City lights aglow,
Laughter mingles, all joy cascades,
Alone, in the steady night.

I spent so many nights out with people who I gave my energy to, only to later regret that decision. I spent so many of those nights out where I look back and regret not having gone home earlier. Self reflection has been one of the most difficult, yet profound journeys I’ve ever taken. Not many have the privilege to be alone in their own space, but when they do, they find themselves in a temporary isolation which allows them more time to know themselves. I spend more of my nights awake when I should be asleep. I spend more of my nights typing, reading, watching, creating, journaling, and listening to the sounds of the city.

But I think, I envy those who have found their peace in themselves and in someone else. Someone who compliments their journey life long and committs. I’m still trying to find myself. I must admit I’ve been slightly struggling. But letting time take its course.
